My name is Jennifer Sergent. I am a business teacher at Limestone High School.
A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
Before my teaching career at Limestone, I lived and taught in Springfield, IL. I graduated from Divernon High School way back in 1997, when gas really was $1.00 a gallon. Divernon is a very small town with only 1,200 people. My senior class had 27 students. To put this in perspective the town I am from is just about the size of Limestone Community High School and my senior class is just a little larger than the average class size at Limestone. After I graduated from High School I went to Wabash Valley Community College where I played both Volleyball and Basketball. Once I graduated from Wabash I continued on to University of Illinois at Springfield where I also continued playing Volleyball. In 2001 I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. I worked for about 5 years, before realizing I was missing passion in my career. I was motivated to return to school to obtain my Teaching Certificate. I again started school and received my Teaching Certificate from Eastern Illinois University. Finally, I had found my dream career. My first teaching job was at Ursuline Academy in Springfeild. Ursuline was a great place, with wonderful students and teachers unfortunatly the school was closed in May of 2007. Finally, my journey brough me to Limestone.
